Glitter Fade
  • Silver Poinsettias

Hello there...how are you this evening? I'm doing pretty well. I've decorated my house for my first Christmas in it, which I love! Here's my tree! 🎄

And of course I still make time for nail art! Here's one I'm very happy with! I'm excited about how the detail came out so clear. I'm not entirely sure if this image was meant to be a specific flower but it looks a lot like little poinsettias to me.

I enjoy Christmas manis and I tend to try and create some that aren't so obviously festive. A little covert, perhaps... What do you think? Does this pass as a version of a holiday mani?

Thank you for stopping by! Blessings to you...

  • Festive Continues...

Hello! Can you believe Christmas is this week? It sure does seem to come around faster every year. It is fun to have such a great season to inspire nail art too! Here's a mixed method mani to continue the festivities using one of my favorite reds of all time.

I stamped on two fingers and glitter faded the rest. I really love how this one turned out. I think I'm drawn to less obvious festive manis, for lack of better explanation. So in my mind this fits into that category. I hope you like it! And, I hope you have a great rest of your day. I need to run a couple last minute Christmas errands then I'll be all set! See you soon!

  • Enchanted Picture Polish

Happy Saturday everyone! What are your weekend plans? I will of course paint my nails at least twice, but I also need to clean my place and run some errands... At least there's always nail polish! I have a simple combo to show you today between Picture Polish and Enchanted Polish.

I am really excited about how this turned out! The dusting of Enchanted Polish's blue glitter over the deep berry scatter holo gives it this glowing effect! I also used a few of the glitters, individually with a toothpick, to accent the stamped design so hopefully you can see those details. I hope you like this mani! And I hope you have a great day!

  • Cerrillos, Powwow with a twist of XX

Hi there! Happy almost weekend everyone! I have a bright mani to show you this evening and I used three Cirque polishes for an hombre glitter fade combo.

I do believe these photos speak for themselves. As always, I just love Cirque polishes. All three of these are still available on Cirque's site and Amazon also carries these beauties.

    I hope you have a lovely evening.✨

  • Explosions In The Sky

Hey there! Here's a quick look at a mani I wore last week. I was in the mood for one of my glitter fades and when I looked through my glitters I realized I hadn't used this super fun limited edition glitter from Rainbow Honey called Explosions In The Sky.

It's difficult for me to photograph glitter...seems like it's almost always out of focus but I think that's because of all the colors and sparkle going on! :) This glitter has a lot going on for sure with hex and bar glitters in a rainbow of colors. It's so fun and would spice up any base color of your choice!

    Have a great day!

  • Lacquer Lust | BBN

Good morning!...well for about another hour or so. :) How are you today? Have you collected any fun new polishes lately? I have an indi-brand to show you today called Lacquer Lust. It's semi-new to me but I didn't own any until now. This is called Butt Bootie Naked (BBN) and it's a beautiful neutral cream holo. Funny name but a truly beautiful polish.

I decided to glitter fade the tips for a little something extra and wow did this glimmer in the sun! The glitter I used is one of my own and it actually doesn't have a name. I made about a dozen polishes over a year ago for fun and use them every once in a while. These went together so well! I hope you'll check out Lacquer Lust. She has amazing holo polishes and her sister has an incredible blog called Fashion Polish. They're an awesom sister duo!

I hope you have a wonderful afternoon and I hope to see you soon!

  • Luminous Owl meets Fleur est Belle

Hello and Happy Mother's Day to all you mamas out there. :) I don't know how you all do it but you're amazing!

Here is a little Cirque combo with a polish from the newest collection and also a special limited edition glitter that I've had for a little while. They compliment each other perfectly!

I think I've said this before but I love how polishes created a year apart go so well with each other. I think this is unique to the indi-brands...it's almost like no matter the collection, it's all one big happy polish family. I know, that may sound pretty dorky but I don't know how else to describe it. :) I love how this turned out! I hope you like it too and I hope you have a wonderful day.

  • White, Yellow, Rose

Good morning! Well, at least there's about 20 more minutes to the morning where I am. :) I'm being pretty lazy today and as much as the calendar says it's spring, it's not even 30 degrees here in Colorado Springs and snow covered the city last night. So, I'm tucked away in my little place painting my nails...bummer. ;) Here's a mani inspired by a new O.P.I. glitter that has shreds of white gold, yellow gold and rose gold in it. Sooooo pretty!

I used one of my new MoYou London stamping plates for the three stamped nails; one in each tone from the glitter. I love this glitter and I think it'll look great over a lot of colors. The shredded shapes really give it a unique look and a bit of an edge.

I hope you have a great Sunday afternoon and hopefully see you soon!

  • Enchanted

Hello and happy Thursday to you! How has your week been? I have an amazing polish to show you today. It's my first Enchanted Polish! I've drooled over swatches of Enchanted Polish on my favorite blogs since the beginning but it's been near impossible to get my hands on it. Seems like it's out of stock everywhere, all the time. Well, I was able to order the mystery February 2014 polish and it just arrived so here it is!

The February 2014 is a rich, berry holo that is just flawless. It has a perfect formula and in the sun, it takes your breath away. I added art to it since it's super tough for me to wear a polish by itself so I decided to add my favorites: A England and Cirque!

I hope you have a great Friday and hope to see you soon!

  • Green

Well, Happy St. Patrick's Day! I don't necessarily do anything different or special to celebrate this holiday (though my boyfriend and I are going to a really cool concert tonight) but I wanted to show a little spirit on my nails.🍀

I used two Cirque polishes for this glitter fade mani and it's amazing how much you can do with Alter Ego. It has so many colors to its holo effect, as you can see in the last photo I took in the sun, that it picks up and blends with almost any color you chose to pair it with. I also decided to give the new O.P.I. Glitter Off base coat a try under this mani so I look forward to literally peeling this mani off when the time comes rather than scrubbing for a half hour.

I hope you have a great day and that your week gets off to a good start!

Happy Wednesday! I hope you're doing well. I was recently introduced to Chloe + Isabel jewelry by my friend, Tracy. I was immediately impressed by the creativity, design and quality of the pieces. I’m pretty much a Chloe all the way but I know that c+i has something for everyone. The spring collections have inspired a few of my latest manicures so I thought I'd show you.

I'm sure there will be more c+i inspired manis in the future so I'll be sure to show them to you. I hope you have a great day!

  • Neutral Fade

Hey there! How is your weekend going? Mine is good and lazy so far, which is nice. :) There's always time for manicures though so I thought after all the bright colors in February manis that I'd use neutral colors for this one.

I just purchased the taupe-gray Essie this past week called Master Plan, though it's been out for a while. I really love the color! It goes with everything and applies as well as all Essie. I started with two coats of Master Plan and then used two glitters that I made last year I call Salt & Pepper. :) I thought I would only use the white over the black on my ring fingers but then I really liked how it looked so I ended up painting them all the same. I hope you like it!

  • February Nail Art Challenge - 07

Hi there! Today is is the third theme for the February Nail Art Challenge: XOXO. I know that pinks and reds are more traditional Valentine colors but I chose purple and white today for this theme.

I wanted it a bit different too so I only stamped two nails and then used a glitter I made myself to fade the other nails. I then used a matte top coat to soften everything. I like it a lot, actually. I'm normally not drawn to the too girly manicures but this one turned out fun.  The next theme will be in a couple days so stay tuned!  Thank you for stopping by!

  • February Nail Art Challenge - 01

Hello! Can you believe it's already February? I'm pretty amazed, actually. I've had this blog going for two months now and I'm still having lots of fun with it. I'm so glad you stop by too so I hope you've enjoyed what I've posted so far. :)

Today also marks the first day of the February Nail Art Challenge by California Nails. I saw the challenge posted by a few fellow nail art bloggers on Instagram this past week and decided it would be really fun! So here's day 1 - Glitter!

I had a lot of ideas for the "glitter" day but decided on using a new glitter Polish from Rainbow Honey for this one that's part of their Sweet Talk collection. I love the combination of red and turquoise. I always have. There's something so sharp yet classic about it. BTW, I'll be swatching the six polishes from the Sweet Talk Collection soon so be on the lookout for it.

It's another cold and snowy day in Colorado Springs so it'll probably be a good day for more manicures! I hope wherever you are, you have a wonderful Saturday!

    Essie - Parka Perfect

  • Winter White

Good day to you! I hope you're having a great week. I haven't used white much. Sometimes I think it's a bit difficult to work with, just kind of unforgiving because it needs to be so crisp. But this textured white polish took me by surprise and I love it!

This white is so bright yet soft. I just love it! I used three thinner coats then glitter faded a very fine glitter so that it would settle well into the texture. I was a little concerned that the gloss in the glitter would take away the matte liquid sand finish but it worked just right.

I hope you have a wonderful night! See you soon. :)

  • NY to Singapore to CO

Hi, hi! We're halfway through the week and I've had a great one so far! I hope yours has been good too. Here's a polish I've wanted for quite sometime but it's a special edition for a distributor in Singapore so I kept waiting to order it for some reason. It was well worth the wait!

I used two coats of the deep charcoal then faded the glitter over it. That ended up giving the charcoal a brown tint to it because of the coral jelly base of Fleur est Belle. It's an incredibly beautiful color! I look forward to wearing it in the summer because it's so warm and bright. In order to make it work for winter though, I decided on the dark base.

I hope you have a great day!

  • Simple Sparkle

Hello, hello! How is your week going? Mine seems to be going a bit long but tomorrow is Thursday after all so the weekend is still on its way. :) I have a very simple manicure to show you today. I use the inexpensive sponge eyeshadow applicators to achieve glitter fades so I used the same technique here too.

I included a blurry picture to show all the sparkle in this glitter. I think this may be my favorite glitter from 2013. I love that there are different sizes and colors and of course prismatic glitter too! This is a pretty simple technique so feel free to have a try. I hope you have a fabulous evening and hopefully see you soon!

  • Modern Houndstooth

Good evening! I hope you had a good Monday. It's another cold day here...maybe about 20 degrees. Hopefully tomorrow will be a bit warmer. I broke out the stamping plates again today and used a classic design in a modern way.

I always start with two coats of the base color and then add images over that. I've used houndstooth only one other time but I should use it more. It is so classic!

  • Pop The Bubbly!

Well hello there and welcome to the last day of the year! I don't know how you feel on this day every year but I'm normally full of mixed emotions. I think of all that the present year has brought me...time with good friends and family and time spent meeting new people...I guess it's a time for me when I reflect on what matters most to me in my life.

Well, I can be mushy and reminiscent all day but there is a manicure to get on to. :) I have to give all the credit to my BFF for this color combo! I think sometimes when I look over all my polishes I tend to gravitate toward similar combinations so I was very excited she chose these two!

And here is the beautiful mani outside, modeled by my BFF herself! I painted her nails last week and she said these two colors together reminded her of champaign and the glitter are like the bubbles! She has beautiful nails. I wish she lived closer so I could paint them more often.

I think I've already mentioned this :) but I LOVE this combination! There are all kinds of fun manicures around the internet for NYE right now. It's fun to see all the ideas. I hope that whatever this day brings you, it's a joyous day and that you get to be with those you care for most. Thank you for swinging by. And here's to ringing in the new year!!

  • Merry Christmas Eve!

Merry, merry Christmas Eve!! I hope you've had a wonderful Christmas Eve so far today. I had a wonderful, relaxing day with family and friends. That's the best part of this season for me; spending time with people closest to me. Here's what I spent a little of my time on today. :)

I used one of my top five favorite colors of all time for the base and it's actually a bit more gray in person but it's a classic O.P.I. and goes with everything. I stamped a couple accent nails and then faded an amazing multi-colored, multi-shaped, multi-sized glitter for just a twinkle here and there. I hope you enjoy it! Thank you for swinging by my little corner of the web. :)

  • Inspired by Winter

Happy Birthday to me!!! :) Yes, I'm a December baby and have overall enjoyed being one. My parents were always good about separating my birthday from Christmas and I always had lots of pretty decorations up on my day so it's been good!

I decided that this special day needed a special manicure too so I took the "Inspired By Autumn" mani through to winter. Here's the winter scene.

I'm very excited about how this turned out!! I used several polishes, stamping, sponging and a dotting tool to get the look. Quite the mixed media mani. :) I hope you enjoy the winter scene and that your December 16th is as great as I plan on mine being! Thanks so much for stopping by today.

  • Rich Glitz

Hey there! I hope you had a wonderful Thankgiving yesterday! I walked to my mom's house and met family and friends there for a great time and fabulous meal. I started this mani yesterday, as a matter of fact, but didn't have time to finish so today I faded in the glitz. :)

I absolutely LOVE Sleeping Palace from A England! I don't think I could ask for a better formula. I love it when a formula allows me to take my time to control the direction of the paint and it still applies effortlessly. I must say though that all A England polishes I have are the same dreamy formula. Sleeping Palace is a rich, deep chocolate plumb shade, though the plumb hughes are lost when I photograph it. I love it though because it's so versatile. I used a champaign colored glitter from Orly to fade with. I hope you like the combo as much as I do.

I hope you have a great day!

  • Glowing Fade...

You know you have a problem when you stare at a collection of polishes and don't know what to choose... At least that's when I knew I had a problem... ;) Here is a glowing glitter fade with two great polishes. I couldn't decide which of my glitters to use but my BFF chose this one for me.

I quite like this combo! It definitely seems to glow especially with the multi-colored, multi-sized shades of red glitter faded over the deep gray backdrop. I hope you enjoy!

  • Perfect Royalty

I had a lazy Sunday and of course painted my nails! This is a new collaboration shade from Picture Polish.  It's absolutely amazing!

In the end, as I often do, I added some extras to Imperial. I thought one stamped accent nail would be just right then I faded glitter on the rest. Please know though, that Imperial stands alone with splendor. It's a near electric purple with hughes of deep blue pearlescence among the gold hexagonal glitters and it applies like a dream. I used two coats. The glitter appeared more rose in color to me which may be because of the layers so I chose Traffic Stopper Coper and Penny Talk to accent the glitters.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a lovely evening!
