  • ILNP | After Midnight

Hello, how is your week going? I keep thinking I'm a day closer to Friday and then I realize I'm not. This week has been been difficult and draining in a few ways, but I'm still so grateful for what I have and each day is a new day...

For some reason the past few Decembers I've waited too long to paint festive manis. I don't know why, so I'm going to paint more this year. Here's a simple taped mani to form a little Christmas tree.

I hope you like how this turned out as much as I do! It's kind of like an outdoor tree scene in the snow... I hope the rest of your week goes well. Check back soon for my next festive mani...

  • ILNP | Birds

Hello! How are you today? How has your week been? I've had a long work week so I'm looking forward to the weekend. I'm still doing a lot of work to my new (well 105 years old but new to me) house but trying to enjoy my mani-cave too and paint my nails! I ordered four shades from ILNP's summer collection and I have one of the fabulous scatter holos to show you today. I'm sure I've mentioned it before, but I'm a sucker for blue holos so naturally I couldn't resist this one! This is Honor Roll.

It's fabulous, ultra scatter holo blue! It sparkles just as you dream it ought to! I added some stamping, though, as I normally do so here's Honor Roll with birds taking flight!

I hope you like it! I really do... 😁 I hope you have a great evening and a wonderful Friday! As always, thank you for stopping by! Happy polishing!

  • Winter Blues

Hello there! How are you today? It has been a very crazy week at work. I painted this manicure a couple days ago but just haven't had the time to post it. I used two blues, silver and black for this stamped and dotted design.

This was kind of an unplanned design. I just received new Pueen stamping plates this week so I was trying them out and this happened! I hope you have a great Sunday night and a good start to the week tomorrow.

  • Thankful...

Hello! How was your Thanksgiving? I had such a wonderful day. I have all of my family here and in walking distance so I took a stroll to my mom's house and had such a relaxing time. I had a great start to the long weekend too, getting to see one of my favorite musicians AND meet her! Tristan Prettyman is beautiful inside and out and sings from her heart. You should check her out if you're not familiar with her tunes.

And now, on to nail polish!! I had a hard time thinking about what kind of manicure to paint for Thanksgiving but at first I was thinking more on the traditional lines of brown, gold, yellow... Then I landed on a dry brush technique idea and I absolutely LOVE how it turned out!

I hope you like this as much as I do! I think the jewel-toned holo polishes are perfect for fall/winter and are a great non-traditional option for a festive mani.

Thank you for swinging by today. I hope you have a great Friday and weekend! I'm thankful for so many things and your appreciation for my nail art is one of them, for sure. See you soon!

  • ILNP Party

Hey there! Happy Sunday! I have a fun little ILNP party on my nails to show you today. I used four colors from ILNP and they all compliment each other so well.

I didn't really have a plan for this mani but I wanted to use this Bundle Monster image. I actually had red on first but when I stamped, the details of this image weren't very noticeable so I started over with the fabulous Iconic from ILNP. Once I was finished stamping, it just felt like something was missing so I gathered up a few other colors and a dotting tool and voila! I love the outcome!

I hope you're having a wonderful weekend and I hope to see you again soon.

    Supplies:

    ILNP - Iconic

    ILNP - Admire Me

    ILNP - Music Box

  • For the Garden Party

Hey there, how are you today? I've had a great day! I got to paint nails at an outdoor market and it was so fun! It was the third outdoor market I painted manis at this summer but since this was in September I took all the colors of fall to paint fall inspired manis. I wanted to have my own mani in tip top shape for the occasion so here's how I dressed my nails.

This is the first time I tried reverse stamping and it worked really well! I'm super excited how this turned out and looking forward to future manis with this technique.

I hope you've had a great Saturday! I'm glad you stopped by.

  • ILNP | Nostalgia (H)

Hey there, how has the start of your week been? It's always tough for me to set an alarm clock after a three-day weekend but I survived. I have an AMAZING holographic ultra chrome polish from ILNP to show you today. I bring to you, Nostalgia (H)!

I normally don't enjoy applying chrome polishes. I think I'm naturally heavy-handed with my application which with any chromes, that means lots of brush strokes. Since I'm not a fan of the brush strokes I've learned that it's best to apply thinner coats with these gems. This is three thin coats (with Seche Vite top coat) and it's such a dream! It shifts from gold to green to pink to violet... Sigh... It's gorgeous to say the least. This awesome shade is available on ILNP.com.

    Have a lovely evening!

  • ILNP | Iconic | Homecoming

Good afternoon! How is your weekend going? I have more nail polish to show you today from the Fall 2014 ILNP collection. These two are the others I purchased besides Black Orchid that I posted earlier this week and they are truly perfect for fall!

Here is Iconic, a fabulous champaign holo with some gold flecks that give the holo so much depth. It applies a bit sheer so this is three light coats plus Seche Vite top coat. The formula is perfect and it's quite self-leveling. With all the vivid colors in the fall collection, Iconic is a great, yet interesting, neutral in the bunch.

Here is Homecoming. In the bottle, Homecoming looks a deep purple holo with gold flecks but once on the nail, it has a bit of a chameleon personality and shifts to deep navy and can sometimes even look like a black holo. I love the deep holo polishes so this one won my heart almost as quickly as Black Orchid. The formula is a little thicker than Black Orchid though, probably simply due to all the pigment needed for the deep color. It still applies nicely though and is easy to control. This is two coats plus Seche Vite.

So there you have it...Fall colors are launching everywhere! I purchased the three I've shown you durning the pre-order last month but the official launch date is 9/12/14. There are 11 polishes altogether made up of 6 holos, 1 ultra chrome, 1 linear holo and 3 holographic ultra chromes. I was trying to be good and not buy too many but I may be ordering a couple more before the month is over. 😉 Visit ILNP.com for purchasing details if you're interested.

Thank you for swinging by today. I hope you have a lovely afternoon!

  • Chevron Swoop

Hi, hi! It's such a beautiful day! The birds are chirping, the sun is shining... It's a quintessential summer day in Colorado Springs and it makes me smile inside and out!

I feel like I haven't painted much nail art lately so I decided to use little tape guides for this mani. I'm not sure what to call the shape exactly so that's the reason for the chevron swoop. 😊

Normally I cut out all my own tape guides but these came in a little package I ordered a bit ago and saved a lot of time. I started with the silver then taped and painted above and below the tape.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a fabulous Sunday!

  • ILNP | Princess Diaries

Good evening everyone. How did your Tuesday go? My day felt really long...the kind that would kid me into thinking tomorrow is at least Thursday. Oh well, at least there's always nail polish! I have another ILNP soon-to-be-retired color to show you today. This is another color out of my norm, like the green holo I posted yesterday was, but it's SO PRETTY!!! Here is Princess Diaries.

I added black and subtle glitter with the dry brush technique to this dreamy pink holo. I am so excited about how this turned out! This look would work with so many color combinations. I think I'll definitely do something similar with a lilac, light blue or even a gold...

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope that you are well and that you have a wonderful evening.

    ILNP - Princess Diaries

    Essie - Licorice

    Julep - Portia

  • ILNP | 1st and 15th

Hello to you on this beautiful Monday! I hope you had a great weekend. I recently ordered four polishes from I Love Nail Polish a.k.a. ILNP. They're retiring a lot of colors so there was a sale and I bought a few. Here's one I purchased called 1st and 15th. I don't normally go for greens but this one caught my eye.

This grassy green holo with a drop of turquoise applied perfectly over my normal base coat. I used two coats, then a top coat before stamping and then applied another top coat. It's a great summer color for sure! I'm glad I purchased it. ILNP will be coming out with new polishes soon. Be sure to visit their site and sign up for email notifications. Stay tuned for posts on the other retired shades I chose.

I hope you have a great day!

  • Mega Midnite Meteor

Hey there! Happy Wednesday! I went to an incredibly fantastic show last night, The Budos Band, so I'm pretty sleepy today but it was worth it.

I have a fun mani to show you today. I started with a holo hombre and then stamped over it too.

I chose a design to stamp with that allowed the hombre and fabulous holo polishes to still show through and I am super excited about how it turned out! I must say that ILNP and Picture Polish have such stunning colors and impeccable formulas.

I hope you have a great evening and I hope to see you soon!

    ILNP - Mega

    Picture Polish - Midnite Meteor

  • Ultra-chrome Holo

Happy FRIDAY!!! Weekends are so lovely! And speaking of lovely, I have two lovely polishes from ILNP (I Love Nail Polish) to show you this evening. They're not just any polishes either...these are ultra-chrome holos to die for!

The first I have to show you is called Undenied (H) and it has so many color shifts to it! The description from ILNP says "With effortless shifts through stunning hues of violet, red, and gold (depending on the angle of your fingertips and the type of lighting you’re under), Undenied (H) is sure to wow you when you least expect it!" I agree completely! You'll see the violet in the photos of mine but I promise it has everything described and more.

The second is Cygnus Loop (H) and photographed more indigo for me but again has incredible color shifting depth and tons of holographic sparkle. ILNP describes this polish "Depending on the light and angle of your lovely fingertips, Cygnus Loop (H) will shuffle through a bright purple, to orange, to yellow, and even a little bit of green. On top of that, it will sparkle like it's been hit with diamonds!" Need I say more?...

So...what do you think? If you don't own any ILNP shades... you must try them out. The formula for these jewels was perfect and I was able to achieve opacity in three thin coats (the thin coats also help with eliminating brush stroke marks). I just couldn't stop staring at my nails when I had these colors on. :)

Here's to a great Friday night, whatever you're up to. Thank you for swinging by!
