• ILNP | After Midnight

Hello, how is your week going? I keep thinking I'm a day closer to Friday and then I realize I'm not. This week has been been difficult and draining in a few ways, but I'm still so grateful for what I have and each day is a new day...

For some reason the past few Decembers I've waited too long to paint festive manis. I don't know why, so I'm going to paint more this year. Here's a simple taped mani to form a little Christmas tree.

I hope you like how this turned out as much as I do! It's kind of like an outdoor tree scene in the snow... I hope the rest of your week goes well. Check back soon for my next festive mani...

  • Silver Poinsettias

Hello there...how are you this evening? I'm doing pretty well. I've decorated my house for my first Christmas in it, which I love! Here's my tree! πŸŽ„

And of course I still make time for nail art! Here's one I'm very happy with! I'm excited about how the detail came out so clear. I'm not entirely sure if this image was meant to be a specific flower but it looks a lot like little poinsettias to me.

I enjoy Christmas manis and I tend to try and create some that aren't so obviously festive. A little covert, perhaps... What do you think? Does this pass as a version of a holiday mani?

Thank you for stopping by! Blessings to you...

  • Cirque|Au

Hey there! Sorry I've been such a stranger lately... I've posted plenty on Instagram, just haven't had as much time to post here. I plan on improving that over the holiday season, though.

A little while back I was tagged on Instagram to answer a little questionnaire about my nail polish story. One of the questions was something along the lines of, "what's your biggest polish regret?" Well, mine was not purchasing the incredible Cirque Colors polish called "Au". It's a 23k gold flake top coat and was created last year and then retired. πŸ˜• Well...upon the announcement of Cirque's 2015 Holiday Collection, Au was brought back for it!! I purchased all four polishes in the collection but was most excited about Au. So, I present to you, Au.✨

What do you think!?! I just LOVE this!! I was curious how it would apply and it's really great! In some places I "blobbed" it on a bit but for the most part, it was perfect! I had to use another Cirque color for the base, NYFW, the first release of The Metropolis Collection and I love this combination!

If you're interested, head over to Cirque Colors and pick up this gem! I'm sure it's only available again for a limited time.

Thanks for swinging by! I hope you're having a great November and I'll see you soon!!

  • September | Metropolis

Hello, hello! How are you? Can you believe it's almost the middle of September?! I just can't believe how fast the summer flew by!

I have to admit though, that fall and winter colors are my absolute favorite for nail polish! So with all the new collections being released, I'm giddy! And also very challenged on what to buy... Now that I'm a home owner and have house stuff to do, I no longer add the whole collections to my cart like I used to.

Anyways... Here are the first three polishes I have for September. Cirque Colors is my favorite polish and as I've mentioned before they have a monthly release of cream colors inspired by NYC to make up The Metropolis Collection. They released three this month and I absolutely adore them!

    Page Six

    Jane on Jane St.

Deco (my fave of the three!)

And of course a combination of them all!

The Metropolis Collection is amazing, the formulas are perfection and there are so many gorgeous colors to choose from! Don't forget that Cirque has nail treatments too. I'm on my second bottle of their base coat and I can't live without their Tea Tree Cuticle Oil.

I hope you have a wonderful day!

  • Cirque Forever...

Hey there, how are you? I'm doing pretty well and enjoying these late summer days. Recently, Cirque Colors created a limited edition collection for a Nordstrom Pop-In shop along with Warby Parker. If you don't know Warby Parker please check them out. They give back with every purchase! I have all the swatches in a previous post so look there to see all of them.

I love all the shades! I chose Greenwich and a couple other Cirque Colors for nail art...

I used Greenwich, Epoch and Never Nude for this tapped, dotted mani. I really love how this turned out and I always love how multiple shades from the same creator but collections apart go so well together!

I hope you have a wonderful day! Thanks for stopping by!

  • Cirque|Pacifica

Hello there, how are you today? I'm well. I took a long weekend from work so I've been working on my house and trying to relax also. I've been spending time with my new buddy, too! A pup! I used to have dogs but renting a place the last five years didn't allow me to have one so I knew that would be a priority once I bought my home. Meet Mr. Darcy! The Shiba Inu! He's wonderful!

So, on to nail polish! You know Cirque is one of my all-time favorite polish brands and I can barely stand not buying every shade of every collection! Cirque has collaborated with Nordstrom a few times now for special limited edition collections. This collection called Pacifica, a pop-in with Warby Parker, had me instantly! All the colors are just perfect!

    (photo cred: Cirque Colors, Instagram)

I wanted all five but I decided on four. All but the glitter... Yes, it's gorgeous...I'm just trying to have a little self-control when buying polish these days. πŸ˜‰

This one is Big Sur. It's not as bright in person but in the best way! There is subtle pink shimmer that my picture couldn't capture but it's there and really makes this blue stand out.

Next up is Greenwich. This shade of the bunch surprised me the most. I just love it! It's a very pale blue with gold shimmer but it leans toward the minty side too. I can see this color even in the winter. It just has that special something!

Fear and Loathing in New York is next and I assumed it would be my favorite of the four...and it is! I love, love this concrete gray holo! It has pink holo in it in the sun that just makes me smile! I could wear this every day and love it every minute!

And last but not least, my second favorite of the four, is City Lights. This is a super soft gray, almost white, holo! It's very classy and has just the right amount of holo to keep you staring at it.

So there you have it! Here's a pic from Cirque Colors' Instagram of the fifth shade that I didn't purchase, Iconoclast. It really does look gorgeous!

This amazing collection is available online  at Nordstrom through September 6th. Free shipping too as always with Nordstrom so if you see any you like...want...need, don't delay!

I hope you have a wonderful Sunday. See you soon!

  • ILNP | Birds

Hello! How are you today? How has your week been? I've had a long work week so I'm looking forward to the weekend. I'm still doing a lot of work to my new (well 105 years old but new to me) house but trying to enjoy my mani-cave too and paint my nails! I ordered four shades from ILNP's summer collection and I have one of the fabulous scatter holos to show you today. I'm sure I've mentioned it before, but I'm a sucker for blue holos so naturally I couldn't resist this one! This is Honor Roll.

It's fabulous, ultra scatter holo blue! It sparkles just as you dream it ought to! I added some stamping, though, as I normally do so here's Honor Roll with birds taking flight!

I hope you like it! I really do... 😁 I hope you have a great evening and a wonderful Friday! As always, thank you for stopping by! Happy polishing!

  • Turquoise

Hi there. How are you today? Did you have a fun 4th of July? I can't believe it's July already. I feel like this year is flying by.

I came across this amazing mani that looked like the stone, turquoise, and I had to try to accomplish it myself. The original mani that inspired me was done with a water spotting technique that for the life of me I couldn't get to work. I'll keep trying but in the end I found a stamp that I used to accomplish a very similar look.

I am sooooo excited about how this turned out! I started with the Saran Wrap technique with three shades of turquoise to get the depth of color there then stamped over that. Free hand, I filled in some of the stamping with black and free hand again, I used a copper holo for accenting the black. It's so fun I can barely stand it! 😁

There are lots of tutorials online about the Saran Wrap and water spotting techniques so feel free to browse and see if you like the way others have created manis with them.

I hope you have a relaxing Sunday...I'm going to paint some more in my house (wearing gloves of course as to not ruin my mani) and then relax too. Thank you for stopping by!

  • Happy Fourth with Cirque

Hello, hello! Happy Fourth of July America! And it's good to be back too! I'm sorry for my absence lately. I bought my first house a month ago and have been so busy with homeowner stuff that I just haven't gotten anything posted here. I've kept up with Instagram fairly well so don't forget to find me there too (@_mani_ac).

My little house has been a dream of mine for five years and it's finally mine! It's over 100 years old so there's lots of character but one of my favorite things about it is the sunroom in the front that's my mani-cave! I can't believe I get a whole room devoted to nail polish! Here's a pic of it so far. 😁

So on to the actual polish part of my post. I decided to paint an easy patriotic mani for today with all Cirque Colors.

So there ya have it. I hope you like it. I think it's fun and unexpected. I hope you have a wonderful day and weekend! πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ See you soon!

  • CBL | Divot Dance

Hello there! What are you up to? I had an extra productive day at work today which felt good! This weekend, though, I had nail mail and one of the colors I bought was this lovely new gem "Divot Dance" from Colors by Llarowe a.k.a. CBL. It's a fabulous teal/green holo that flashes pink, green, gold and blue! It applies super smooth and is everything I've come to love about CBL.

It's so beautiful I felt it deserved a post all on its own! If you haven't tried CBL, I highly recommend their polishes. You can get this gem and many others on Llarowe's site.

I hope you have a great evening! I hope you enjoyed the pics of "Divot Dance".

  • Paisley

Hi, hi! Welcome to Wednesday! How is your week going? I'm having a great one! I took a few days off this week just for a well needed break and have spent time with my BFF who is in town. We went shopping for things for my new little house that I'll move into at the end of the month; so fun! I haven't taken much time to paint my nails but I did paint this one.

I've had this Picture Polish shade for a while and swatched it but hadn't used it for any art until now. I really like how this turned out! I added the turquoise sparkle on top to give it a little something extra. I need to remember this one because it would be doable in many colors! And I don't think you can ever go wrong with a paisley design.

I hope you have a great rest of the day! Halfway to the weekend!

  • CBL Blues

Hi there! How is your weekend? Mine is going really well. I've relaxed, spent time with family and sorted through stuff at home. I'm moving later this month so it's definitely time to purge things. I decided to paint a dry brush mani with shades of blue from Colors by Llarowe. I love this technique because it's easy and is still interesting and all color combinations work.

What do you think? I really love the way it turned out. I started with the lightest shade for the base then dark to medium with the sparkliest last. Have you ever tried this technique? I think it's doable for everyone.

I hope you have a great evening. Thank you for swinging by today. You're great!

  • PP | Nemesis

Hello, hello! Happy Saturday to you! How are you today? I'm very well after sleeping in and a relaxing morning. I'm also happy because of this amazing limited edition Picture Polish shade I bought this week. It's a brilliant berry scatter holo that leans toward the orange side of red. There are several shades in this limited edition collection but this one caught my eye and I'm glad it did!

As usual...I had to add a bit of art. I decided to use an A England holo to stamp with and the combo is so wonderful! Nemesis has the flawless formula we're accustomed to from Picture Polish and I used three light coats for complete opacity.

I hope you like it and I hope you have a wonderful rest of the day!

  • Stained Glass

Hi there, how are you today? I've had an interesting week with its ups and downs but I have tomorrow off for Good Friday so I'm relaxing this evening and looking forward to a long weekend.

I have a reverse stamped mani to show you today. I think this is the most time I've ever spent on a manicure but it was well worth it! I think it's also the longest I've worn a mani in quite some time. Normally I can't wait to paint my next idea but I've had to wear this one as long as I could.

Here is my stained glass mani with Enchanted Polish cubed!

What do you think? I'm so excited about how this turned out and it makes me want to paint more reverse stamped manis. I'll need to ponder my next idea.

I hope you have a wonderful evening! See you soon...

  • Patchwork

Hello, hello! How are you today? It's such a beautiful day today! I am naturally drawn to darker colors for manicures but with spring in the air it's fun to use brighter colors. I pulled out some polishes from the Cirque Heritage Collection for a reverse stamped mani. Here are a few pictures of my process.

My little work station and the stamped image after filling in the design.

This is one of my favorite manis in a while! Reverse stamping takes extra time so I only used the images on two fingernails on each hand. I like that it wasn't so overwhelming though. Just something a little extra.

I hope you're having a good week so far. Thank you lots for stopping by!
